We have travelled in Kiriburu on 1st week of January 2013. We have total 4 days tour. We took the Janshatabdi Express, which leaves Howrah station from 6.20am, and get down at Barajamda station at 12.45 pm. From the station we took a car and started off for the twin hills of Kiriburu. It takes about one hour to reach Kiriburu SAIL Guest House. The Guest house is very good well furnished, attached canteen and beautiful garden. Kiriburu\Meghtaburu is a very lovely place in Saranda. Giving the picture of a hill station it provides an opportunity to witness the vast tract of Saranda. Kiriburu has the right mixture of environment of jungle and solitude, ideal to spend a short vacation and in absolute rest. Kiriburu is proud of its excellent natural beauty and endless forest resources. Best place to stay in Kiriburu is SAIL Guest House. The sight of the 700 mounts from the Kiriburu view point is magnificent. Pundul Falls is the great spot on Saranda forest. Thalkobad bungalow or Kumdi forest bungalow has destroyed by Maosist You can visit SAIL Iron Ore Mines of Kiriburu\Meghtaburu. We have not got any problem from Maosist. Kiriburu area is totally safe from tourist. First day we visit Saranda Forest, Pundul Falls, Sapneswar Templs in Forest (Temple of lord Shiva). On evening we have drive to Meghataburu, also a mining town, which gets a great sunset. We have spent next day to visit Kiriburu & Meghtaburu iron Ore Mines. We need to permission to enter the Mines form SAIL high official Authority. 3rd day we have travelled to see Khandahar Water falls in early morning. We hired a Car from Kiriburu to see the waterfall. Is around 150 km from Kiriburu. The Khandadhar Falls is categorized as a horsetail waterfall. This is a beautiful waterfall. It drops down as a fall from a height of 800 feet. It makes a great picnic spot. The road of Khandadhara Falls is very beautiful. We have visited another waterfall on the way. Badaghagra falls. Badaghagra falls in Orissa are an important tourist destination. Flowing at a distance of 10 kms from Keonjhar and 196 kms from Rourkela, this waterfall is popular for its serene and calm ambiance. Falling from a height of 60 mts or 200 feets, river Ghaghra is the source of this waterfall. 4th day we took absolute rest. 5th day we took the Janshatabdi Express, which leaves Barbil station from 1.45pm it reached at Howrah station at 9 pm. This is a great travel to us. We have gathered some melodious experience. I want to travel Kiriburu/Meghatburu again and again.
